Auction Events
Qtego Authorized Auction Representative Dean McCurry Auctioneer Services from Dallas, TX recently held a successful fundraising event for the Lewisville ISD Foundation.
Dean used Qtego’s new check out process for the event and received the following thank you from Connie Pelphrey Executive Director
Dean,
The Lewisville ISD Education Foundation would like to thank you, your team and Qtego for helping to make our 2011 Evening for Education event a success.
The new Qtego system provided an easy and fast way for our guests to register and check-out. No lines. Even though the texting process was new to our guests, many pre-registered and started bidding as soon as the auction catalog was posted on our website a few days before the event. We even had some bids from people who could not attend. One comment I kept hearing was that text bidding was addictive and fun. Having the concierge service for our guests who couldn’t text was a great way to include those who do not normally text.
This year’s auction surpassed all previous auctions. Thank you!

Cpl Patrick Myers enlisted in the Marine Corps in Dallas, Texas in 2003. After graduating from boot camp at MCRD San Diego, CA, he attended Field Radio Operator School and upon completion was designated with an 0621 MOS. Cpl Myers was initially assigned to 2nd Marines HQ Battalion. In February 2005, Cpl Myers Battalion was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While in Iraq, he was reassigned to a private security detail force to provide specialized security throughout the local theater of operations.
In November 2005, while transiting to a front line security post in Anbar Province, Cpl Myers convoy was struck by a roadside bomb. The vehicle he was driving encountered a direct hit. He was immediately medevaced to the battalion aid station for initial triage and then flown to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany. Due to the severity of his injuries, Cpl Myers was flown back to the U.S. to be with his family while in critical care. After several months and numerous surgeries at Brook Army Medical Center, San Antonio, TX, Cpl Myers health was stabilized. As a result of the explosion, Cpl Myers lost both of his legs just above the knee. He was medically discharged from the Marine Corps in July 2007.
Cpl Myers awards include the Combat Action Ribbon, Purple Heart, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.

Dean McCurry, a live auctioneer from Dallas, Texas, has expanded his auction services by offering Qtego Wireless Auction Technology.
Dean has become an authorized representative of Qtego so he can offer new ways for his clients to increase their revenue for silent auctions. Some of those unique features he points out are:
· No “must be present” to bid restrictions
· Customers are able to approach their entire database, not just the attendees.
· Customers can bid from any cell phone, anytime from anywhere
· Increases the number of bids and revenue
· A complete registration and checkout system
· Auction can start days before the actual event
· People actually have fun with the bidding process, not just a constant walk to the clipboard to see the high bid
· Instantly notifies them if they are the high bid or they were outbid
· We provide all user data to the organization
Dean’s ability to understand and relate to his audience enables him to create the type of exciting and entertaining atmosphere that is critical to the success of any fund-raising benefit auction. His professionalism, poise, energy and wit are contributing factors to the record-setting donations experienced by the organizations he has been involved with, and are the reasons that many of these organizations consider Dean’s participation a key element in the success of their future fund-raising benefit events.
